Brandon Burrell

Brandon Burrell serves as Vice President of the CASONY Youth Service Council.

Brandon Burrell is currently a Senior at Mamaroneck High School. An active student leader and student athlete, his ambition is to pursue a career in engineering or the broader field of science. He is interested in better understanding how various forms of energy usage impact both the environment and climate change. In order to slow the adverse impacts of climate change, he believes we must increase our usage of renewable energy and reduce our use of fossil fuels.

As the son of immigrant parents from the island of Jamaica, Brandon feels a special connection to his Caribbean heritage. As a leader in CASONY’s Youth Service Council he works to support and give back to the community.  He takes pride in sharing information on all things Caribbean, especially with those in his community who may have limited exposure to the culture. 

Brandon is also an accomplished athlete. He balances the rigors of sports and his academic pursuits. He has played on the high school varsity basketball team since middle school and serves as captain. He was recruited and has committed to play next year for the Crimson, while attending Harvard University.
