Gerald Dawes serves as CASONY’s Board Secretary. Throughout his 30-year professional career, Mr. Dawes has been recognized for his outstanding professional and community work.

Until his recent retirement, Mr. Dawes held the position of Director in the Business Ethics and Compliance Department (BEC) at Consolidated Edison Company of New York. In this role, he was responsible for promoting ethics standards and guiding compliance with all applicable laws in every part of the company.
Throughout his 30-year career, Mr. Dawes has been recognized for his outstanding professional and community work. He is an active member of the New York chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE – NYMAC), where he previously served as President, and is a current member of the Executive Board. He also serves as a board member of New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering and is the former president of the school’s Alumni Association.
Mr. Dawes holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, New York. He has also completed professional programs offered by the Ethics and Compliance Initiative (ECI), the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE), the Gas Technology Institute (GTI), General Electric (GE), Power Technologies Incorporated (PTI), and the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
