Lisa Rafferty serves on CASONY’s Board of Directors.

A specialist in Public Health, since 2008 Lisa Rafferty has served as a Family Educator at Islip and Patchogue Early Head Start. Her responsibilities include case management of families with infants and toddlers, as well as working with expectant mothers to ensure the best outcomes.

Ms. Rafferty encourages quality communication and parenting skills, meeting with and educating parents on the importance of maintaining good and healthy habits. She also assures that all enrolled families are in compliance with Federal Head Start Performance Standards and all applicable Federal, State and local rules and regulations. Additionally, she works within the community to coordinate training and workshops in parent education, helping families capitalize on their strengths and set attainable goals.

Lisa Rafferty holds a Bachelor of Science, with a major in Public Health from State University of New York (SUNY) at Westbury and an Associate’s degree from SUNY Farmingdale, majoring in Liberal Arts. She has also completed training by the National Family Development Credential (FDC), a professional development program for frontline family workers.

Active in her community, Ms. Rafferty volunteers with the Gospel Community Church Children’s Ministry, the Lion’s Club and CASONY’s Women In Search of Excellence (WISE) affinity group.
