Phillip Grant serves on CASONY’s Board of Directors. An accomplished attorney in both public and private sectors, Phil Grant has spent over 35 years advising commercial entities from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, elected officials, and state and local agencies alike. Most recently, he served as counsel and chief strategist for a projected $100 million global expansion campaign involving complex legal and regulatory analysis.
As a former associate of one of the country’s top-tier law firms and a former NYS Assistant Attorney General, Mr. Grant is responsible for over 40 published judicial decisions. As NYS Assistant Attorney General, he supervised consumer mediation for all of Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties. In this position he successfully litigated three of the largest consumer protection cases ever handled by the AG’s regional offices, leading to restitution for thousands of New York homeowners.
Raised in South Jamaica, Queens, by a Barbadian father and a mother with West Indian roots, Phil Grant attended public schools and gained acceptance to Amherst College. He went on to graduate from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as one of editors for the law journal, “The Tax Lawyer”, while also interning at the White House in the Office of Management and Budget.
In 2018, he was honored by the American Law Society as one of America’s Top Attorneys. In 2023, he received the Outstanding Leadership Award from the international “Law 2.0 Conference.”
